About Eden Stream Foundation:

Eden Stream Foundation is nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives in Burundi. We tackle development challenges like poverty, food insecurity, disease, water contamination and soil health and environmental degradation. We envision a country where everyone has the opportunity to enjoy healthy life, progressing towards socioeconomic transformation for sustainable development, in line with Burundi’s Vision 2040–2060 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The programmes are being piloted in 9 districts out of 47, with possibility of extension nationwide, supporting a big number of affected grassroots together with various different partners including Local Authorities, Sectorial Ministries, Civil Society Organizations (CSO), Donors, Private Sector based organizations, Organic Certification bodies, Research Institutions, Academic Institutions, Ecological Organic Agriculture Industry Institutions or Networks and Development Partners.

What We Do

Sustainable Agriculture

We guarantee ecological organic agriculture with emphasis on ecological interactions that reduce reliance on synthetic inputs and potentially enhancing water infiltration and reducing runoff to mitigate water contamination and minimize water pollution and improve soil health.

Climate Action

We encourage initiatives contributing to climate change mitigation by promoting afforestation and reforestation, soil health and water quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and potentially increasing carbon sequestration.

Entrepreneurial Education

We strive to improve the well-being of rural people by facilitating the creation or consolidation of agriculture and off farm value chains around viable and resilient businesses run by young people, women and vulnerable groups including internally displaced persons, refugees and returnees.

Global Health Practices

We raise awareness about major public health issues and provide the preventive and referral services on mental health, Birth Planning, HIV, Drugs Abuse, Cancer, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, Diabetics, Cardiovascular diseases, Malaria, Malnutrition and Gender Based Violence.
